“How does being part of a loving, worshiping community affect my day to day life”. In other words, why do you go to Church? This is the question that ‘unchurched’ people want to know – they want to know how Church might change or affect their lives.
We would love to hear from you, the answers from your hearts to these questions.
As a teacher at the Junior High level and a single parent, I often find myself frazzled and the impulse to react rather than to act can be very strong at times. I go to church because I find it a time of peace and reflection that helps me to focus my energy so that I am living my life to the best of my ability for myself and those with whom I am in contact. I have learned over the years that I am rarely aware of how I impact those I come into contact with however the impact can sometimes be very strong. If I am being true to myself and my beliefs than the impact is rarely negative because I believe in a loving and support God so that is what I exude.
I attend Holy Nativity Anglican Church truly for the fellowship and the connection with those that love our Jesus as I do! But, they are such an encouragement to me – with their age and wisdom. But, on the other side of the coin, I believe that I am here to encourage, love, and pray for them. Prayer, to me, is so very powerful and truly is heard always!
I go to receive the blessings and love from them and from our pastor – who is so articulate, understanding and down to earth.
Life is hard – and everyone definitely needs Jesus in their heart and life for their strength and song. These people do show this!
Receiving communion on Sunday truly lifts and helps me through the week! This would be that it truly represents the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. There is definitely a true spiritual blessing in receiving this, as well as being part of the whole body of believers!
I am fairly new to Holy Nativity – but what I am truly enjoying and appreciating is the kindness, love and friendships that I am experiencing there. The fun times and great food that we share here are so great; do come join us in this wonderful oasis! God bless, and look forward to seeing you there! VS/Age 67
I come to Holy Nativity for the community and to reconnect with my faith and with the ‘One’ who is always there for me -no strings attached. It is a great comfort to me to have this one constant in my life -always, in this this time of so many changes in the world. Sherry, over 50:)
I come to church to learn about Jesus and gather with my friends.

Going to church on Sundays helps me deepen my friendship with God, helps develop me spiritually. I thank God for my past week, the good things and the hard things. I learn more about God in the world and it helps me keep grounded in what I am here for.
I come to Holy Nativity to say thank you for the many blessings I have received in my life; and thank you for the many lessons that God has sent me to become who I am today. I come to pray for help for both myself and others, that they may always know God loves them through both the good and the bad. Sometimes, the noise from day-to-day life wears me down, and it’s hard to remember how to be a good Christian neighbour. Coming to Holy Nativity recharges that battery, so I can go out into the world with a full heart and renewed spirit.
